Monte has been a singer, songwriter and producer since the early ’80s, where he began his career as part of a local band called Flyte Tyme. Flyte Tyme later became the core of the innovative R&B group, The Time, which helped define the ‘Minneapolis Sound’ of the ’80s. Monte has written and produced many songs for various artists, including Janet Jackson and Gladys Knight, and recently completed his first solo CD, This Side of Paradise.
